In order to be an effective language arts teacher, you must know the meaning behind language arts and its focuses. Language art focuses on important area in teacher education such as listening, reading, speaking, and writing. These areas are essential to learning in every content area. As teachers we are responsible for guiding students towards these four language modes. Speaking and listening are often referred to as the primary modes just because they are learned naturally through environments and in home before the children come to school.
