From birth to the age of two children are growing in many ways. Children are physically, mentally, and socially growing during this time of development. Soon after birth the brain is forming neural connections in order for the infant to walk, talk, and remember. Infants are also born with several reflexes that respond to different stimuli. The infant's senses are also growing at different rates with touch as the most developed and vision the least developed. From birth to age two children develop their ability to coordinate motor actions with sensory activity. During this time an infant's behavior is dominated by reflexes by age two he or she can use mental images.
