Provide a brief description for each of the following functions:

  1. Basal ganglia -A group of nuclei above the thalamus. This structure controls motor responses and cognitive learning. This portion of the brain is responsible for implementing sequential order. In addition the basal ganglion assists in storing memories relative to stimulation.

  2. Corpus collosum - The corpus callosum can be found underneath the cerebrum at the center of the brain. It is a thick group of nerve fibers that divides the cerebrum into the left and right hemispheres. It connects the left and right sides of the brain allowing for communication between both hemispheres.
